Over the past 10 years, the teen birth rate in California has declined by more than 40 percent. While this is good news, we must not become complacent. Young people need our guidance, support and resources now more than ever. We must continue to encourage parent/child communication, support access to contraception and health services, and facilitate a community dialogue that includes support for sex education that includes abstinence contraceptives and how to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.

This website offers a unique California-based resource for data and analysis of teen birth rates, as well as for policies and programs that seek to provide teens with access to comprehensive sex education.

Teen pregnancy is also an adult problem. Let's solve it together.
