Facts and Research

The “Get Real About Teen Pregnancy” campaign is committed to involving adults, the media, policy makers, community activists and the healthcare community in addressing teen pregnancy in a realistic, thoughtful manner. Teen pregnancy doesn’t just affect teens, it affects us all. The educational, social, and financial costs that result from teen pregnancies require that adults Get Real and recognize the need to encourage healthy behaviors and activities for teens as a way to help reduce unplanned pregnancies.

Public leaders, community leaders and parents have the ability to help solve the problem of teen pregnancy within their own spheres of influence. However, without a realistic approach to teen pregnancy, prevention efforts will not be as successful as they otherwise can be.

The “Get Real” campaign includes several tactical activities, ranging from advertisements to special events.  As new materials are developed they will be added to this site.
